The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 12th HealthWorld Conference: “From the Memorandum to the Reconstruction of Greece’s Healthcare System”, is to be held on September 19 & 20, 2013 at the Ledra Marriott Hotel.
The Healthworld Conference, in its 12th successful year has become the leading annual conference on health policy issues in Greece. This year, once again, it is expected to be the point of reference for all stakeholders of the healthcare community seeking to be informed on the latest developments, and potential, of the Greek Health system.
Today Greece is experiencing a period of unprecedented structural changes, whose delayed implementation has caused a significant burden for many years on the operation of the healthcare system, resulting in accumulated problems and bringing its stakeholders to a virtual state of gridlock. Healthcare sector issues are always a vital priority for the Chamber, especially now as Greece is going through an extremely difficult financial period and the government is proceeding with massive reforms of all structures related to health services, causing untold apprehension among stakeholders.
The primary mission of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is to promote, by all available means, the dialogue and the cooperation between the business and political leadership and launch, through appropriate communication channels, concrete proposals which, despite today’s restrictive financial pressures, will lead to a viable and functional system focused on seamless access of citizens to quality healthcare services.
Through Healthworld 2013 Conference, the Chamber will pave the way for an open and transparent dialogue among representatives of the State administration, European organizations and the corporate community, to arrive at substantial conclusions, which the Chamber is committed to promote to all political stakeholders, in an effort to provide consistent and comprehensive information on all developments, and propose solutions to the issues plaguing the healthcare system.
Among the issues that will be discussed during the conference are:
- Reconstruction of EOPYY: A Prerequisite for Sustainability of the Healthcare and Social Security Systems
- Innovation and the Control of Pharmaceutical Spending
- Return on Investment in Innovative Technologies and Materials
- Ensuring the Quality and Appropriateness of Healthcare Services
Conference procedures will be ended with an open discussion "DEBATE" with representatives of all stakeholders of the healthcare sector.
