The enormous scientific and industrial potential of biotechnology has been recognized by government and the corporate sector. In our environment, biotechnology is one of the priority areas of research within the framework of EU programs, national R + D + i, and regional programs.
The Master in Agricultural Research and Biotechnology, Universitat Jaume I created with the objective of generating future employees in this sector, the qualifications and professional skills required. The most important economic sectors in the province of Castellón are industry and agriculture, the latter increasingly oriented biotechnology research, due to the current demand for quality products and growing concern for the environment that is forcing one hand, the use of sophisticated products both as plant biotechnology, and secondly, to plant breeding.
