New figures released this week show that industrial production rose by 6.3 percent in July year on year and by 3.0 percent when compared to June.
The statistics, collected and published by GUS, have been praised by economists for being “impressive” and one has even stated that Poland has “entered the path of economic recovery”, states TVN24.
“In June of this year when production rose by 3 percent (year on year) our hopes also rose,” says Malgorzata Starczewska-Krzysztoszek, main economist at Konfederacji Lewiatan. “The growth of production by 6.3 percent is very impressive.”
Marta Petka-Zagajewska, chief economist at Raiffeisen Polbank called the increase a “solid surprise” and pointed out it’s the largest rise since January 2012. “What is positive is that the manufacturing sector is responsible for the vast majority of these increases.”
However, the Ministry of Economy has since estimated that the pace will slow down this month
